The Best Cardiovascular Methods For Weight Loss

As you begin on your journey for weight loss, it's important to get straight in your mind what the best cardio methods are that are going to help you reach your end goal. Cardio training is a great way to not only blast calories while you do it, but when done properly you can actually burn a significant number of calories once the workout is finished.

It's important to realize however that not all cardio is created equally, so let's first discuss what some of the most beneficial forms of cardio training are.

Interval Running

By far and away the top form of cardio training for weight loss is interval running. Nothing gets your heart rate up faster like a quick sprint and with interval running you're doing this over and over again. Running is also good because you won't be acting against a large resistance force (like you would if you were biking for instance), which can sometimes cause the muscles to fatigue faster than your actual cardiovascular system.

If you're going to do interval running as your cardio selection, aim to run hard for thirty to sixty seconds and then rest for a period of one to two minutes. After that interval is completed, repeat again for six to ten times until the whole workout is finished.

Be sure to always begin with a warm-up and cool-down.

Skipping

Another fantastic, high-intensity form of workout that you should consider adding to your weight loss program is skipping. Skipping is great because it doesn't require any fancy equipment to do it and as long as you're being sure to skip on a somewhat padded surface with proper footwear, burns more calories minute per minute than any other exercise.

Try practicing a few different types of skips – front skips, back skips, double skips, and once you get really good, one leg skips for best results. This will also help you stay interested in the workouts so you don't become bored and quite doing them.

Rollerblading

Third, rollerblading is a terrific form of cardio for the summer time and will really target the legs, especially the glutes and hips.If you're looking to tone the bum area of your body, nothing beats a good session of rollerblading.

When performing this cardio for weight loss, be sure to keep as deep of a knee bend as possible as you go about the movement as that's what will call those glute muscles into play and ensure that they keep working hard.

Stair Climbing

Finally, the last form of cardio that's incredibly intense that will really ramp up your calorie burn is stair climbing. If you can find a tall staircase somewhere, practice doing ten runs up it to complete a single workout session.

Run up as fast as you can and then take a breather and walk back down again. This will work much in the same way intervals will and will really speed up the weight loss that you experience.

So don't let yourself get bored with cardio machines any longer. Any one of these methods will produce superior results and will keep that workout interesting for you to finish each day.
